2 Timothy 1:7- "For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but Holy Spirit has given us mighty power, love and self-control." (The Passion Translation)
When God made us in His image, we were made without a spirit of fear. Imagine yourself, being unable to fear? It can be hard to believe because it seems so natural to fear. As children, no one taught us how to be afraid of the dark, fearful of rejection or of failure. But, somehow, we became fearful.
Fear is rooted in sin. When sin entered the world, fear was apart of Satan's tools used to hinder us and create distance between us and God. Fear hinders us from continuously moving forward. It binds our hearts and minds, making us enslaved to Satan's false presentation of our realities. And when we really think deeply of our fears, what is the root of it all? Is it fear of the unknown? Fear of how something presents itself? Or is it fear rooted in unbelief? Now, think on this; in all of the ever-mounting fears we've acquired in our lifetime, how far away do we feel from Abba Father?
That sense of distance that you feel, when face to face with fear, is not God's desire for your relationship with Him. Fear, the tool used by Satan to keep us in bondage, prevents us from living by faith. Faith, the very gift God has given us to please Him. Remember, Satan is attempting to kill, steal and destroy your faith and peace! He knows that when you set your heart on worship, gather courage and lift up your head, you will move into the unknown unbothered. You’ll welcome the opportunity to leap from one place to another in God! You’ll see your reality for what it truly is. Honey, we- will- walk- with- thunder in the spirit, binding fear and loosing faith!
So, here are some action steps to assist you, in living from a place of victory over fear: 1. Take time to know and understand what or who triggers you to feel fear; 2. Ask Holy Spirit to override that spirit of fear; 3. Come out of agreement with fear; 4. Offer that fear as a sacrifice to God! Sis, he's offering us an exchange: our fear, for His power, love, self-control, faith and perfect peace. All of the very gifts that come with our rightful inheritance.
“You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.” - Song of Songs 4:7 (NIV)
When we begin to shift our perspective of ourselves, our mere humanity, to God’s perspective of us, that is the moment we begin to become who we already are. When God looks at us through the eyes of His Son, He sees every good and perfect characteristic of Himself! Looking at you, Darling, He sees His joy in your smile, His sound in your voice, His wonder in your eyes, His passions in your worship, His Kingdom etched within your vessel. You daughter of Zion, vessel of honor and manifested Imago Dei, prepare yourself for celebration! “For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs" (Zephaniah 3:17, NIV).
Allow the unrelenting love of God to unravel your weary mind, soul and spirit, to make room for your elevated self concept in Him. Celebrate all of who He is in and through you. He is reason enough and fully worthy of your sacrifice of praise and worship. Yes, sacrifice your self-doubt, sacrifice your fears, sacrifice your unbelief, sacrifice your humanity, sacrifice your mindset; all for the perspective of God. God’s frame of mind, concerning “whatever is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable” (Philippians 4:8, NLT) within you.
As you renew your mind, your spirit will enlarge and you will inevitably come up higher. You’ll rise like incense before His throne, and your worship will be made like oil. “The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see; a splendid crown in the hand of God” (Isaiah 62:3, NLT). A crown of perfected beauty.
May I pray for you? With a spirit of humility, gratefulness, and anticipation, I want share what’s on my heart for you.
God, our Father, I thank you for such an opportunity to intercede on behalf of my sisters, your daughters. On behalf of your daughters, I repent God, for any iniquity, sin, or transgression committed against you. Would you close any door that you did not open, where access that was granted, should have been denied. God, create in us a pure heart and right spirit, so that we may be able to stand before you. We repent before you, acknowledging that you demand a standard of righteousness and holiness, because of who you are! I thank you for your mercy and grace, that keeps and leads us back to you. God would you rebuke the devourer for their sake, silence the voices of their enemies, bind any spirit that attempts to attack or attach itself to them. And loose your angels to war on their behalf. Contend with every spirit, that contends with them. Lion of Judah, make yourself known, as their defender and righteous judge. Holy Spirit of God, intercede on their behalf in the courts of Heaven, and declare them free, all because of the blood of your son.
Jesus, bind their wandering hearts to you, so that they don’t lift their souls to another. “Restore to them the joy of your salvation, and make them willing to obey you” (Psalm 51:12, NLT). Be a wall of fire all around them! Guard their heart, body, mind and spirit! Lord, I declare, that “from your glorious, unlimited resources you will empower them with inner strength through your Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God” (Ephesians 3:16-20, NLT).
Give them the desires of your heart. Cause their will to be yielded to yours, so that they may walk in oneness with you. Lift up their heads, and dwell richly in them. Oh God, would you make your daughters just-like-you. Take delight in them; your most treasured creation. Wrap them in your arms, and consume them with your love! Bless them! Keep them! Sing over them! Make your delight in them! All this and more, I pray in Jesus’ name. So be it!
Year after year, as we approach a new beginning, we should be mindful to remain focused on fully ending a year strong. Typically, we may review our New Year resolutions, with the intent of making these current year goals, now our new year goals...again! Now, albeit some accomplishments take time and will require adjustments with extended deadlines. And that’s okay! Yet, we should do all that we can to strategically execute both, our short and long term goals; planning them accordingly. Examine what you would like and need to accomplish for your short term goals. Calculate how long it will take you to reach the goal. Determine what your goals will require in order for them to begin. Do you needs funds? Specific people? A business plan? Or a simple “Yes, God!”? Think about why you are setting out to pursue these particular goals. And of course, planning for long term goals, still require short term benchmarks!
As you process your plan, always remember to pray along the way. Be mindful of surrendering all your plans to God. Ask for help! Take breaks when necessary, and even build them into your plan. Burnout has the potential to drastically derail you physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. And lastly, finish what you’ve started. Remember, the year isn’t over, until it’s over! Eleven days remain to finish what you’ve you started!
Finally, let’s focus on what you have accomplished this year. First, give yourself a round of applause! As my mother would say, “I’m clapping it up for you!”. Congratulations! You overcame excuses, self-doubt and difficult circumstances. Doesn’t it feel good?! I’m so happy that you’re happy, and needless to say, I want you to remain in this place of joy, fulfillment and gratitude. I’d love to hear about your 2018 accomplishments, so please share, so we can encourage one another!
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord, would fulfill His promises to her!” (Luke 1:45, NIV).
“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." - John 8: 31-32 (NIV)
Christ says that His truth will set us free. Free indeed, to know who He is and who we are as a people, person and nation. Recently, I had discussion with a family member, that resulted in my questioning and inquiring about the true concerning everything, we experience and learn in life; both spiritual and non spiritual. We are warned that in these last days that we live in, there will be an increase of false prophets, messiahs and doctrine that are so deceptive. So much so, that even the elect of God may be deceived. It truly behoves us, to know and experience God, in such an intimate relationship that only He can do, as we both cultivate intimacy. Being who He is, a gracious God, He invites us into relationship with Him, without conditional love. Full of mercy and grace. Truly His heart is for us. His desires are truly honorable towards us! There is truth about Him and the life He desires for us, that our enemy fights to distort and keep us in such a deceived and ignorant state of being.
But wait, there’s more! The good news of Jesus Christ, is that we can receive truth and walk in it, if we so desire. God doesn’t keep secrets. Rather there are mysteries, that He longs to reveal to us, if we’d just come close. I want to know all truth, just like you! And I want and need Holy Spirit to detox me from the very false personas that I’ve grown accustomed to and actually desire now by way of the flesh. We need to ask God to change our desires and appetite, and give us a deep hunger for His truth. To be full, yet never satisfied with stagnation. And that’s the truth about everything! Truth about the spirit realm and the world we live in, as we’re spirit beings within bodies, transcending between two worlds. And yes, we are spirit beings with an inheritance of truth, that we must access and live by. Let our mantra be: give me truth or nothing at all.
Seek His truth, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Make it your purpose, to know Him and be known by Him. Freely He gives! Let’s know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help us God.
Find your focus. Those were the words I came across while creating my vision board. Surrounding ‘find your focus’, I began to add words that represented the things I want to really focus on in 2019. Such words consists of reading, truth, passion & profits. While these areas of focus are pleasing to me & beneficial, there is something far more pleasing & beneficial to my & our relationship with God. Jesus Christ himself has foretold us that “not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the realm of heaven’s kingdom. But, it's only those who persist in doing the will of My heavenly Father” (Matthew 7:21, TPT). Focus found! Being distracted by the things of the world, is another facet of our humanness that we must be ever aware of, and be willing to surrender our humanness to God for refinement. Our focus must remain on “above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from Him” and the things necessary for our humanness, “these less important things will be given to you abundantly” (Matthew 6:33, TPT).
In being persistent in doing the Father’s will, we inevitably “stockpile heavenly treasures for ourselves that can't be stolen and will never rust, decay or lose their value. For your heart will always pursue what you value as your treasure” (Matthew 6: 20-21, TPT). Now back to the humanness of humanity. Our natural desires aren’t for the kingdom of God. Our sin nature will deliberately keep us in opposition to the will of God concerning ourselves. In spite of this, our spirit man is actually much larger & encompasses our flesh. Our flesh has to be put to death, everyday, all day, & our spirit man has to be fed by the Spirit of God. With this in mind, we must look introspectively at what we value. Evaluate what we value; modify or completely change what we value, and redefine our focus. Let’s focus our heart on finding the treasures of who God is. He is the most invaluable treasure for humanities humannes.
Look at how you’ve grown, Darling! With each passing day, week, month and year, you’re becoming stronger and wiser, healthier and even more beautiful. You’re showing up and being present, teaching kindness and demonstrating love. Learning from your mistakes and heeding to those lessons learned. Be proud of your elevation! Be proud of yourself, and remain humble before the Lord. Gentle reminder-- humility comes before honor. It’s the desire of God’s heart to honor you, His Daughter. Continue to take delight in Him! Come into Him and find your covering, as you prepare to take flight--again! Yes, again! And as you transcend through realms, God is taking notice. He’s mindful of how courageous you are, your gentle and quiet spirit, He loves. He’s mindful of your boldness in the face of challenges, and He takes pleasure in you seeking Him out. Yes, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking for the fruits of His Spirit. You’re looking out for God, waiting to see Him in everything you see, think, taste and smell. Oh, how He is mindful of you! He’s so proud of your growth. Yes, even now He’s tending to your desire to know Him more. So take delight, in knowing that He’s taking delight in you.
